Market is my first WordPress theme designed for WooCommerce. This theme has a Minimalistic design, with some stunning CSS3 Powered animations. Fully Responsive in Nature, this theme offers you everything you want from a Woo Commerce theme. All Product/Shop pages have been beautiful styled to go in sync with the theme.
No WooCommerce?
No Need to Worry. This theme will work absolutely well if you don’t want to use it for a shop, and run it on a standard blog.
Support for other eCommerce plugins?
Currently, no other plugins are supported. WooCommerce is the most popular plugin, with maximum support available on the Internet, hence I decided to go with it.
Setting up the Theme
- Install and Activate WooCommerce.
- Set up WooCommerce Pages.(Option will be available as soon as you activate WooCommerce)
- Install and Activate Market Theme.
- If you are running this theme on a New Site. You can stop here. Everything is ready to use.
- If you are running on an old blog or site, then you need to regenerate your thumbnails once.
- Now You are Done.
Using Featured Images
This is a Very basic feature, but still most people will ask me this: “How to set up the Post Thumbnails to Show up on the Blog and Shop Pages?” The answer lies in Featured Images. You need to set Featured images for your Posts and Product. Click here to know How to set Featured Images.
[box title=”Important” style=”soft”]The Featured Images for the Blog Posts should be at least 400px wide, and taller than 350px. Featured Images for Shop/Products should be more than 600px in width, and 600px in height. Otherwise, they make look ugly on the site.[/box] [divider top=”no”]Suggestions/Feedback?

Market v2.0 Update
Recent Market Theme Update, Version 2.0 Removed Theme Options, which could have led to removal of slider, social icons and a few settings for some users. But Don’t Worry. These features are now available via Appearance > Customizer, You can easily set them up again.
We had to Remove Theme Options and Switch to Customizer because of Change of Rules by WordPress.org

I have added the slider issue to the update queue. If there is a bug related to it, it shall be fixed in next update.
Also, you can change all colors by editing the css files, inside the ‘css/skins’ folder.

You can access those using the FTP or your cPanel’s File Manager.
It’s not a bug. It’s only coded for 3 images in options.php and slider-navio.php.
By the way, love the theme!

You need to set Shop as your static front page, in order to do that.

Oh Sorry. That is not possible. WordPress doesn’t permit multiple themes.

Yes you could. But, it could break your site. Hence, I have restricted max-width to 350px.

The suitable dimensions for slider images are width = 1200px. Height could be anything. For best results, use images with similar dimension.

We have 1 question : – The image Slider bar on the home page is limited to 3 images but your text notes say it should have 5 images available to upload?

YOu need to Edit the default.css file in order to make those changes. I would recommend using the CUstom CSS are to implement them, though.

This error could be generated due to Server Bandwidth issues. Try Activating the plugin first, and then the theme.

I have tried to create a child theme to edit the css styling but for some reason the child theme is not overriding the parent theme. I have followed all the instructions on how to create a child theme.

You are not overriding the Css properly. You need to specify the proper path, as in parent css file in order to override. In Worst case, use

I love this theme! Great layout and design. I have one question though: how would you change the text of the “read more” button when hovering over the featured image of a post?
Go to Dashboard > Appearance > Editor > content-home.php
Search and Replace “Read more“, with whatever you want.

Hi Rohit, I am trying to make changes on shop page – where the all products are listed. I have to organize them in table – with name, price, quantity, total, something like the cart page but without remove and image. Is it possible to do it with a free theme? Thank’s in advance!
Currently, the theme supports only the default layout for products page.
Hey, love your theme. I have a problem sorting the products within the admin interface. I can sort them, but it will not sort the products in the store front. Is this a known issue or am I missing something?

For the posts page (content-page.php), we have it set to 33, only 3 appear…
When we view he source code all 33 are in the code…
Is there a flag we tripped somewhere to limit the display to 6??

Just checked to be sure and the setting you note is set at 33… but only 6 appear on the above page (7 now as we have a new post)
We know that 33 listings were displaying as we saw them a few days before we contacted you, so we thought it might be one of the plugin updates — clearing the cache, killing cloudflare, deactivating all the plugins didn’t change anything. Trying the 2015 WP theme did result in the 33 displayed…
We have published another post since and the posts page is accepting new posts but not displaying
The weird thing is viewing the page source will have the code for 33 posts to be display — so something is killing it somehow between the code arriving in full to allowing only 7 posts to appear as it is now…
We have checked the CSS style page and don’t see anything that may be limiting page (we’re using a child theme)
I’m scratching my head as where to look next…

God’s honest truth, have no clue what happened.– we have updated a few plugins since my last reply here, the server was restarted, and cleaned Chrome out all without verifying if this page did change… Something worked, just wish we could know what it was…

What would you mean? Technically you can create as many shop pages you want.
Just put the WooCommerce shortcode in every page you want make a shop page.

That doesn’t matter. It’s just an example. It should be the path to your default-custom.css file. You can put it anywhere.

Unfortunately, a header image right now is not possible. You can use a slider with this theme though.
I will try to see if addition of an header somewhere in this theme is possible, in the future.
